What is new in the cow
pasture.........
Spitfire the Bull is in the news again....Had a wind storm the other night
and part of the barn left standing from the last wind storm blew down
leaving a gateway to the world wide open for him........After wandering
through town.....he got a bit lonely and headed for a field where there were
several cows all who were probably interested in meeting the new bull in
town.....Through the trailer park he went....now on a mission......by now it
was morning and the word went out that "Spitfire" the bull was
missing......on the prowl for a new herd.....After spending over 2 hours searching the town
and surrounding area, calling the county sheriff since they were known to
always be looking for something to do.......the search area had narrowed.
Soon the call came in to my Mom's restaurant....Spitfire had been found
wandering through the trailer park and was attempting to get through the fence
where new cows anxious to meet the most famous bull awaited.....But, it was
not to be........Local coffee drinkers in the restaurant were overheard to
comment they had hoped he would find their cows before I found him and
returned him back to his own harem.....with my mom driving her Mercedes
behind him he trotted back to his home herd no no less for
wear........later we were to learn that he almost met his fate.....a local
young woman, just 21 returning home after a party and too many beers to be
behind a wheel had bumped him as he traveled down main street......he
escaped with a slight limp....her truck didn't fair as well.......Hitting
something as big as a Angus Bull weighing over 2000 lbs is not a kind thing
to do to a vehicle.....She escaped serious injury thank goodness and
hopefully next time will let her friends take the keys.....
